Diane was born October 10, 1950 in Sudbur y. Dear daughter of Florence and the late Leo Kilpinen of Sudbury. Beloved sister of Wendy (Peter) DiLullo of Sudbur y, Karen Kilpinen of Barrie and Judy Kilpinen of Etobicoke. Dear Aunt of Steven and Kevin DiLullo of Sudbury. Also survived by extended family members in Sudbury, Pembroke and Barrys Bay areas. Special companion of Bob Wallace and his sons Rob and Richard of Burlington and the Wallace and Hodgson extended families. Diane graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was employed by the Halton Board of Education for 29 years as a classroom teacher, then a Special Education Resource Teacher and most recently as a school librarian until her retirement in January 2007. Diane enjoyed reading, traveling and fitness activities. Her style, grace, lively sense of humor and gentle wit will be sadly missed and treasured always by family and friends. The family wish to extend a sincere appreciation to Dr. Phillips, the oncology team and nursing staff on the 3rd and 5th floors of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for their compassion and kindness. At Diane's request a private family visitation and service will be held Monday, September 29, 2008. Dear husband of Joan Jeffery and the late Hazel Pick (2002). Loving father of Caroline, Michael (Laura), Alexandra (Ted) and John (Marita). Devoted grandfather of Connor, Leia, Charlotte, Jack, Alyssa, Helena and Griffin. He will be greatly missed by his step-children, Helen (Jim) and Philip (Linda) and their children, Jeffery, Kate and William. Also survived by his brother John (Liz) and others in his family. Peter was for merly Vice President at DuPont Canada and was a dedicated volunteer in many organizations in Oakville. Respecting Peter's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Peter's Life will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. at the Burlington Golf and Countr y Club, 422 Nor th Shore East, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial contributions to the Oakville-Trafalgar Memor ial Hospital, 327 Reynolds Street, Oakville, ON L6J 3J7 specifically for the Renal Dialysis Unit who kept Peter going for the past ten years. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Nephrologists, nurses and staff of the Dialysis Unit for their care and compassion over this period of time.
