"I haven't even looked at it yet," he said when asked about the winner's cheque. "I don't even know how much it was for." Told that he had just pocketed a little less than a million dollars, Reavie's eyes widened like Happy Gilmore laying eyes upon his first big cheque. "How much? $900,000?" he asked. "That's unbelievable, really. Yeah, wow. That's all I can say." The fact that Reavie was having a hard time wrapping his head around those figures shouldn't come as a surprise. Sunday's payday was more than he had made in his first four years as a professional. When he won the Nationwide Tour's Knoxville Open last year, it was worth less than one-tenth of his Canadian Open windfall. While Reavie seemed just as genuinely surprised by the kind of money they hand out for four days of golf as Adam Sandler's golfing alter ego, he certainly played a lot more under control. From the rain-soaked first round Thursday to Sunday's final, the guy who -- before Sunday -- was as recognizable as a Glen Abbey hot dog vendor had just about every reason imaginable to fold. But he didn't. Instead, he became the tournament's first wire-to-wire winner since Lee Trevino in 1977, finishing 17-under-par for the tournament, three strokes better than Billy Mayfair. First off, Reavie had to arrive at the course at 7:30 a.m. to fin Oakville plays host to national Senior Little League championships.
