DEREK WOOLLAM / OAKVILLE BEAVER River Oaks wins Wallace meet River Oaks students combined to win 11 individual events at Wednesday's Halton District School Board elementary school Wallace trackand-field meet in Burlington, helping their school to the overall team title. Daniel Boissiere and Mitch Atkinson each won a pair of events for River Oaks, which finished the meet with 316 points -- 95 ahead of second-place Abbey Lane. Teammates Lindsay Logan, Hong Jo Kim, Max Raike, Tim Berberian, Haley Palmer, Haleigh Hutchinson and Pavle Vujicic also finished first in an event. W.H. Morden also enjoyed a successful meet, winning both the intermediate girls' and intermediate boys' pennants. Karley DonnellyAmoroso (two), Assad Bahram (two), Vickey Mendonca and Cassandra Oliveira were event winners for Morden. Led by Pine Grove's three pennants, Oakville schools swept the division titles at the Gapes Relay Meet last Friday at Nelson Stadium in Burlington. In fact, Oakville schools won each of the 12 races at the meet , which saw 30 schools competing. Pine Grove won the tyke, atom and bantam titles while Sunningdale topped the midget division by sweeping all three races. Pine Grove won six races in all, two in each of the three divisions it won. Linbrook posted a pair of victories while Forest Trail also notched a win. Forest Trail's triumph came in the day's closest race. It won the tyke boys race by one one-hundredth of a second over West Oak. Sunningdale also had a couple of close calls, winning the mixed midget race by 13 one-hundredths over Burlington's Clarksdale and taking the midget girls race by 15 one-hundredths over C.H.
