Doreen Bonsu and Katie Sinopoli each had 16 points to lead Holy Trinity. The Titans will meet the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, which will be playing for its third straight Halton championship, tomorrow (Thursday) at Sheridan College. Notre Dame defeated Abbey Park 47-33 in Monday's other semifinal. The Division 1 final will be a 2:45 p.m. tipoff at Sheridan. The two teams are not strangers to one another. Notre Dame routed the Titans 40-16 in last year's semifinals. The gap has closed significantly since then, although the Irish still hold the upper hand. It beat Holy Trinity 37-26 in the teams' only meeting in the regular season. That allowed Notre Dame to finish first with a 10-0 mark, while Trinity was second at 9-1. Senior Division 2 The senior girls' Division 2 championship will see Burlington Central Trojans looking to defend their title against Milton's Bishop Reding Royals. The Trojans topped L.B. Pearson 49-26 in Monday's semifinal to advance to their second straight Halton title game. Central was a perfect 11-0 this season while Reding was 10-1. Central handed the Royals that lone loss in the fourth week of the season, edging Reding 29-27. The Royals advanced to the final by edging last year's finalists, the 9-2 Robert Bateman Wild, 30-26. The division 2 final is slated for 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at Sheridan. Junior The junior girls' basketball semifinals were being played yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Results were not available at press time. The undefeated Holy Trinity Titans were hosting the T.A. Blakelock Tigers, who finished the season with an 8-1 record. In the other semifinal, the 9-0 White Oaks Wildcats were playing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-3). Notre Dame upset the 9-1 Assumption Crusaders 38-33 in Monday's quarter-final round. In the other Monday games, White Oaks defeated Bishop Reding 44-36, T.A. Blakelock topped Burlington Central 32-23 and Holy Trinity downed Loyola 75-35. Holy Trinity defeated Notre Dame in last year's championship game. This year's final is a 1 p.m. start tomorrow at Sheridan.
