Twenty positions are waiting for successful candidates to fill them and begin work in the Halton Region, which is comprised of Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton. Those already holding a valid Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Certificate of Results will be considered for the January 2008 recruit class and will be provided with an application. Other interested parties are invited to attend a Halton Police Recruitment Information Night on Monday, Oct. 29, at the Halton Regional Police Headquarters located at 1151 Bronte Rd. The information night will be held in the building's cafeteria from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at which point individuals will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a recruiter in a relaxed environment and ask questions specific to their needs and interests. Breast cancer fundraiser Oct. 29 Oakville's Mademoiselle Women's Fitness is hosting a breast cancer fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 29 from 5:308:30 p.m. The event will feature a silent auction, door prizes, raffles, gift baskets, a dermalogica skin bar, free samples, spa specials, running room footwear assessments, beverages, appetizers and more. Classes will also take place with aerobics at 5:30 p.m., yoga at 6:30 p.m. and pilates at 7:15 p.m. A minimum donation of $10 is expected.
