Here in Oakville Dr. Jenna Davis and the Alliance Healthcare Team will be sponsoring the event locally from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Alliance Healthcare located at 232 South Service Rd. E. The event will provide essential information on crime prevention, internet and child safety, and environmental awareness. Alliance Healthcare Professionals, along with Kidz Printz and SunLife Financial, will donate special child ID cards to every child who attends, and provide free fingerprinting of all the children. Additionally, there will be special appearances by Becky Kellar, threetime Olympian with the Canadian Women's Hockey Team, from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Mayor Rob Burton will be on hand to read the proclamation deeming Sept. 22, 2007 Kids Day International in Oakville at noon. Sparky, the Fire Dog will be on hand all day and Salsa Babies will stage a live demo/mini-class at 1 p.m. Reptile Rob will stage a show at 1:30 p.m. and Snow White and her "superhero" friend will be in attendance from noon to 1 p.m. The Fire Department will bring a fire truck and teach fire safety tips to children from 1:30-3 p.m. The Alliance team will provide free scoliosis screenings, foot/gait screenings, mini-massages, and will be distributing vital information on disease prevention and health promotion. "We will also provide free balloons, food and fun for everyone. There will be special giveaways, silent auction and free prize drawings every half-hour," said Davis. "There is a bouncy castle (donated by Main Events Fun Inc.), facepainting and balloon animals (donated by Diamond Sponsor Monkey See Monkey Do Childcare Centre) and lots of great activities and demos will be taking place throughout the event. In addition all proceeds from the event will be donated to Camp Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre," said Davis.
