www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday September 7, 2007 - 9 Bottle toss from bus lands student in hot water Police say teenagers on a school bus cheered as a fellow student attacked two Halton detectives during the course of an arrest on Tuesday. The detectives had been travelling south down Trafalgar Road when they saw a male student in the school bus ahead of them toss a water bottle from the bus window. Police say the bottle struck a car, which caused it to swerve and nearly resulted in a collision. Police pulled the bus over to investigate, at which time a 15-year-old student, believed responsible for the incident, attempted to conceal himself with help from other students. When police located him, the young man was uncooperative and refused to identify himself. As the detectives proceeded to arrest him, the student allegedly began to assault them as those around him cheered him on. The student was subsequently subdued and taken into custody. The Oakville youth appeared in a Milton Court for a bail hearing Wednesday to face charges of mischief, assaulting police and failing to comply with a recognizance. He was released on bail with conditions and is scheduled to make another court appearance on Sept. 13. WIN!
