Val was the beloved wife of Wayne, loving mother of Luke and Mark all of Georgetown. Daughter of Dorothy and Richard (deceased) Dopson, daughter in-law of Gloria and Andy (deceased) Pakkala all of Sudbur y. Val will be greatly missed by her many sisters, brothers, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews as well as her and Wayne's many friends and associates. A webmaster and graphics designer at Yamaha Motors Canada, Val was also extensively involved in many business and volunteer organizations in Georgetown throughout her life including the Chamber of Commerce and the local baseball scene. She founded the Halton Hills Women in Business Association and was involved in setting up the North Halton Athena Foundation, an organization dedicated to suppor ting, developing and honouring women leaders and inspiring women to achieve their full potential in the community. Born and raised in Sudbury, Val loved getting away to the family camps on Long Lake and spent as much time as possible there. Her personal strength of character and will power carried her on throughout this summer allowing her to accomplish goals of renewing relationships and visiting childhood haunts and friends along with going to Camp Manitou in August 2007. Val became passionate in her support of the "Weekend to End Breast Cancer" walk for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, participating in 2 walks and planning a 3rd in spite of declining health. The family asks that those wishing to honour her memory make contributions to the Princess Margaret Walk to End Cancer in lieu of flowers.
