DAVID RITCHIE / SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER AFTERMATH: Ontario Provincial Police officers survey the wreckage following a fatal crash in the eastbound QEW lane at Winston Churchill Boulevard, Monday afternoon. Driver dies in crash Police suspect medical reasons are behind a fatal car crash that blocked the eastbound lanes of the QEW at Winston Churchill Boulevard for more than two hours on Monday. Police report that at about 2:45 p.m. a man -- driving a black Pontiac Grand Prix -- was travelling on the QEW towards Toronto when, for unknown reasons, the car veered to the left. It struck a guard rail before swerving back across the highway where it sideswiped a white Toyota Camry. Both cars came to a stop just west of Winston Churchill Boulevard. "The person in the Grand Prix, a man about 50-years-old, was found with vital signs absent," said OPP Sgt. Cam Woolley, who was among the emergency personnel responding to the accident. The man in the Grand Prix was taken from the scene to OakvilleTrafalgar Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. "Police and the coroner suspect the cause of death may have been medical and not related to the collision," said Woolley. The relatively minor nature of the collision lends credence to this theory. "There was not significant damage," said Woolley. "The air bags didn't even go off." The accident caused huge delays for commuters as police shut down the eastbound lanes of the QEW from 2:49 p.m. until 4:50 p.m. while they conducted an investigation of the crash. Those riding in the white Toyota Camry received only minor injuries. The name of the deceased male has not been released. Owner, Karen Nano soon developed a loyal clientele looking for unique and fashionable clothing for their young children. The store continued to "grow" and business flourished for another 14 years, just like the children in Glen Abbey. As a result, Karen and manager Kim Carter decided to introduce ladies clothing to the shop. Feedback was so overwhelmingly positive, they made the timely decision to carry only women's fashions. Moms and Grandmas who used to shop for their children and grandchildren, were now shopping for themselves! This Spring Watch Us Fashions has pulled out all the stops to provide fashion conscious women with the ideal opportunity to dress fabulously and reasonably, without having to go to the mall. The store offers unique items from Canadian companies including Tribal, Point Zero, French Dressing, JeannePierre, CYC, Joseph Ribkoff and Conrad C. Karen and Kim jokingly compare themselves to Stacey and Clinton of the popular television show What Not to Wear. "We really have a blast selling ladies clothing," says Karen. "It's great to come to work and help one of our customers find that perfect outfit," adds Kim. One of the most popular items at Watch Us Fashions is the "Oprah bra." Karen and Kim have been trained by the manufacturer of La Mesteire to properly fit a bra. "We've found that just by wearing the proper bra a woman can look up to 20 pounds lighter. The transformation is incredible!" enthuses Karen. "Sometimes we need to address how a woman looks underneath her clothing before we can recommend an outfit." Exceptional service and personal attention are provided to every customer that walks though the door by the knowledgeable staff at Watch Us Fashions.
