With their fee assistance they helped me, Ahmed Qaderi, and my family to become members at their facility. Their fee assistance program, the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, makes sure that everyone with financial limitations can access the YMCA for all purposes. I first joined the YMCA of Oakville in 2004 and have had no regrets. I was a full-time student at St. Thomas Aquinas in Grade 10 and was working part-time. Joining their programs and services helped me to stay out of trouble and helped me to gain strength and confidence in who I am. I joined their gym to workout and play basketball with my friends and soon learned that they had so much to offer. I started rock climbing and went swimming and in no time I saw that I was in the best shape of my life. After seeing what the YMCA has to offer I had to tell my friends and get them to join. They first thought I was out of The YMCA is a charity that offers fee assistance to those in need. Just make an appointment, fill out a fee assistance application and bring proof of your income. Everyone who thinks they cannot be a member due to financial problems, you are wrong. Ahmed Qaderi my mind because they did not have enough income to become a member. I knew they wanted to, and explained that with Y fee assistance you could easily become a member. I explained to them that all you had to do was make an appointment, fill out a fee assistance application and show proof of your monthly income. In no time, I had two or three friends join and thank me for my assistance. I am now a high school graduate and working part time at The Bay, Oakville Place. I will be going to Sheridan College in September, 2007. I am looking forward to becoming a volunteer at the YMCA to show my appreciation to them for helping me and my family to be part of their programs. I am hoping to gain knowledge about their marketing and advertising programs and apply my talents to their success. I am doing all this with their help and assistance. If it was not for their fee assistance I would not be aware of all they had to offer.
