Born at 1:03 p.m. on Jan. 1, Sidney was delivered in an hour, said her smiling mother, Tanya Gray, who was at the O a k v i l l e - Tr a f a l g a r Memorial Hospital yesterday. Sidney weighs in at sixpounds three-ounces, and was born right on time doctors told the Gray's she would be a New Year's baby. "We're pretty surprised," Tanya said of she and her husband Steve. "We weren't expecting her to come on time." While Sidney was delivered in just an hour, the Gray's say it was by no means an easy delivery. "It was a long night," said Steve, who noted Tanya was up all night "We're pretty surprised. We weren't expecting her to come on time." Tanya Gray, mother of New Year's baby Sidney before heading to the hospital. The pair usually head to a friend's house for a party on New Year's Eve, and even though they spent that time at the hospital this year and didn't get much sleep, Tanya said 2007 was probably the best New Year's ever. "I think so," she said, smiling. "It's been good. Struggling for the first 24 hours, but it's been fun." And as for New Year's Eve for Sidney in the future, her mother says she'll have a lot of reasons to celebrate. "It might be a good excuse to party," she said, smiling. www.oakvillebeaver.com
