Sept. 8-10 marks the fourth year for the highly-successful fundraiser known as The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Toronto's world-renowned Princess Margaret Hospital benefits from the multi-day event that brings together individuals who have been affected in some way by this insidious disease. Men, too, while not in the same numbers, can also suffer from breast cancer. Over the course of the weekend, participants will walk 60 kilometres to raise millions of dollars for the hospital. They know that funds are desperately needed for research, as one in every nine Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. They could be walking on behalf of a mother, sister, aunt, niece or girlfriend currently "This story is dedicated to all the men and women who are participating in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. My mother's recent diagnosis of breast cancer has made me acutely aware of all the wonderful people who work so hard to fundraise in an effort to find a cure for this wretched disease."
