"We called our team the Ziegel 400 in appreciation of our 11 family members whose total combined age, ranging from 7 to 71, is 400 years free of cancer," said Ziegel in an e-mail. "Also over $2,000 of our donations came from volunteers at the Oakville Fareshare Foodbank and five of these volunteers walked in the Survivors' Victory Lap to represent our team," she wrote. "In addition, over $2000 in donations came from friends who are retired Halton educators, and three ex-principals from Halton high schools walked in the Survivor Lap to represent our team." Shaynanigans is a team honouring young two-time cancer survivor Shayna McDonald and Pam's Pride is a team of family and friends who participate in memory of Pam Dickie who has died of cancer.
