She added silver in the 50m and 100m freestyles, also placing fourth in the 200m butterfly. In her next competition, Russell will swim in the older age group as she looks for a stiffer challenge. Her times at the AGI meet were better than any 13- or 14-year-old competitors. Also winning medals at the AGI meet were Jacinda Smit (silver in girls' 17-and-older 200m backstroke) and Alexandra VanOmmen (bronze in girls' 13-14 100m and 200m breaststroke). Mackenzie Martyn led the way for OAK with four gold medals, a silver and a bronze, while Alexander Smith won three events, adding silver and bronze in others.
