Influenza, invasive group A strep, salmonella, hepatitis, E.Coli and AIDS / HIV are just a few illnesses threatening our good health every day. For the past seven years, thousands of participants have taken steps on the Heritage Trails in Oakville for the LIFE Hike and 5K Fun Run. These individuals raise funds for the Canadian Foundation for Infectious Diseases (CFID) which funds the work of AMMI Canada . To date, the event has raised over $370,000 dollars. Bailey will be one of this year's LIFE Hike special guest. The five time world and Olympic Champion will be on hand to speak with participants and sign autographs as youngsters race against Bailey's 100m world record time. Dr. McGeer, of The Toronto Hospitals is a leading expert on infectious diseases. McGeer will address current infectious disease issues and announce a $50,000 research project funded by CFID.
