Veterans will marshal at the Legion Hall, 79 Jones St., at 10:30 a.m., and parade west along Lakeshore Road to the Bronte Cenotaph for an 11 a.m. service. Notice of Pesticide Use The Halton Region Health Department monitors standing water and catch basins in urban areas on public lands in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville for mosquito larvae. When mosquito larvae are found, the Health Department uses larvicide to control mosquito larvae in order to reduce the incidence of West Nile virus in Halton. Larvicide will be applied by a licensed applicator contracted by the Region. In Standing Water Throughout the summer, the Halton Region Health Department will apply larvicide to standing water sites under the direction of the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Bob Nosal. A granular formulation of the larvicide Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis), AquabacTM 200G, registration number 26863, will be placed in affected standing water on public lands in urban areas in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. Signs will be posted at each location indicating when the larvicide was applied. In Catch Basins Throughout the summer through October 31, 2006, the Halton Region Health Department will apply larvicide to catch basins under the direction of the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Bob Nosal. A pellet and/or briquet formulation of the larvicide methoprene (Altocid®), registration number 21809 for pellet formulation, 27694 for briquet formulation, will be placed in catch basins in urban areas on public lands in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville.
