The message was from Inniskillin, asking what I was doing that night and inviting me out to one of their vineyards for the annual Ice Wine harvest. It is also very gratifying, indeed, knowing that somebody else was foolish enough to go out at three in the morning and pick grapes when it is â€"15°. A good bottle, a half bottle I should say, of Ontario Ice Wine will cost you around $40, not cheap by any standard, but someâ€" thing extraordinary and deliciousâ€" ly sweet and fruity, and it is Canadian â€" the best in the world. Of course, it takes also a lot more grapes to make a bottle of wine, as much as, eight times the amount used in producing a reguâ€" lar wine; and also, a lot more manual labor.
