Considering that Evans has never before "tried to fill a whole board with paint to create a three dimenâ€" sional image," the results of his Town Hall show are overwhelming and certainly draw a viewer in for closer examination. Evans, who grew up in Oakville and now works with developmenâ€" tally handicapped people in Alliston, says art has been imporâ€" tant to him since he was a small boy. Works can be viewed at Town Hall weekdays betwen 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Evans has chosen to integrate some striking ‘rustic‘ collages with his acrylics on wood and masonite. Art is very magical he says, you can let your imagination go and take a little vacation which he hopes viewers of his exhibit do. The magic of art 4 E: Clergy: Canon Alex Hewitt, Rector Rev. The church on Chartwell Rd., which now holds two identical backâ€"toâ€"back services on Sunday monings to accommodate its growing congregation, has added a third. But since preaching three sermons every Sunday was a bit much to ask of its pastor, Roy Matheson, the third is held at a nearby public school. Brainchild of the Chartwell leaders and John Kessler, who serves as the new service‘s teaching pastor, the THIRD SERVICE â€"â€" that‘s the only name so far â€"â€" has a new direction. "Everything about the Third Service is designed to be less formal or stuffy than what newcomers might anticipate," says Kessler. That means Sundayâ€" morningâ€"toâ€"meetin‘ clothes are out, and discussion and upbeat music is in. Amen, says Tim Miller, one of the music leaders at the Third Service, who feels he has found a niche. "No cheesy organs allowed here," he says, although there‘s an unlikely chance of someone hauling one into the gymnasium at New Central public BLuE JEAns WELCOME At CHARTWELL‘s THIRD SERVICE Miller has been itching to bring his band "Ghost Town" to Chartwell but never got an invitation. Now, thanks to the Third Service, someone‘s finally let him. "We still have hymns but there‘s a more modern approach," Miller says. "We take requests. Some people just can‘t relate to Onward Christian Soldiers." Meeting at: Sunningdale Public School 1434 Oxford Dr. (between McCraney St. W. Upper Middle Rd.) Miller says the church aims to offer a nonâ€"threatening atmosphere to both regulars and "churchâ€"abused" people willing to try church again. The congregation is an "obviously younger" crowd, says Third Service coâ€" ordinator Rich Chambers, a middleâ€" ager.
