It is also for those who have fond memories of some great times. With summer coming to an end, we find ourselves with what appears to be an endless ritual every September, every year -- for ever. You guessed it; it's "back to school.' The long, hot days of summer are all over. We have to get back to the serious side of life and all those other great things we all love so much about school. Those "dear, sweet" teachers who don't understand anything we ever do and who always seem to be preoccupied with giving us an education, even if it kills us. The bus drivers who have this built-in hatred for noise of any kind. The Phys. Ed teacher who insists on giving us muscles in places we didn't even know we had places! The principal who patrols the halls as if she's rehearsing for a Rambo movie. Lastly, but by no means least- ly, we have your friend and mine The Truant Officer. She is so concerned about us that she insists on keeping our parents informed of every move we make, or in some case don't make! Seriously though, it is the school environment and the lead- ership and guidance of these peo- ple, together with the friendships we develop along the way, that make our school years perhaps some of the best years of our lives whether we care to admit it or not. S As we all set out to begin another year of hard work and studying, remember: "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." ; Don't think you have what it takes?
