Activities this week included: a trip to the park, marshmallow constructions, movies, making shakers and obstacle courses. We have many other new activities for the following weeks and hope that you will come out and join us! Attendance (average): Emie & Bert_-- 13; Tot Lot -- 16; Summer Day Camp -- 9. On Wednesday August 10 the Tot Lot group went bowling and joined two Senior Citizens from Birchwood Terrace. We would like to congratulate August Rentz (age 81) who scored 170 and Mel Cady (age 65) who scored 237. Thank you for allowing our group to join you. will be presented to the community at the Fall Fair. The Recreation Department is interested in present- ing new and exciting programs. Mom & Me Registration Mom_& Me Fall Registration will take place on Monday August 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre. There will be a general meeting iper Rec Summer Playground Once again another successful week passed by with events such as the S.W.F. (Schreiber Wrestling Federation), Movie Day, Fire Station Tour for the Munchkins, a Bowling Day for the Munsters, and of course everybody's favorite, Arts and Crafts. All Events were a huge success. We would like to thank Dianne Filane and Ron Larivee for volunteering transportation for the bowling. We would also like to thank Dave Kay and Will Hodder for their time and patience. Upcoming Events On Tuesday,.August 16, there will be a Career Day for all the children. They may dress up of what they want to be when they grow up. On Thursday, August 18, there will be an afternoon dance for the 7 to 12 year-olds. If you are not registered with the summer play- ground then there will be a small admission charge at the door. The dance will take place from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Chips and pop will also following the registration. Mom & Me is a non profit orga- nization of parents who are alto- gether for the purpose of setting up and maintaining a learning pro- gram for the development of their children. Schreiber Mixed Slowpitch Tournament Another exciting season of Mixed Slowpitch came to a close on Sunday, August 14. The slow- pitch league did not let the excite- ment die down as the playoff tour- nament commenced on Monday, August 15. The tournament is a double knockout split tournament with the top 8 teams competing in the "A" Division and the bottom 8 teams competing in the "BE? Division. Games are going on all week with 3 games being held Thursday and Friday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday the games get/underway at 8:00 a.m. with the last game being played at 6:30 p.m. Sunday will see the exciting conclusion with the semi- finals starting at 8:00 a.m. The championship games are scheduled for the "B" side at 5:00 p.m. and for the "A" side at 6:30 p.m. There promises to be lots of excitement so come out to the ball field and "cheer" your favourite or not-so- favourite team. Minor Hockey News Well with baseball coming to a close it must be time to start think- ing about hockey! Schreiber Minor Hockey Association is looking for - coaches for the 1988/89 season.
