Ladies Weight Room Users We have special times for the ladies to use the weight room on am more private basis. THese times are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1.00 -- 3.00 pm. T.1.S.A. Workshops Training Institute in Sport Administration Workshops are designed to meet the needs of Sports administrators, executive members and sport volunteers. Coaches and officials will also ' benefit from this workshop. Workshops will be held on the following dates: April 15, 16 at the Thunder Bay Airline Hotel April 29, 30 at the Manitouwadge Community Centre. The running shoes are waiting for the first major event of the sea- son...Fun Run 1988. This year the Annual North Shore Directors Fun Run will take place on Tuesday, May 24. We will be calling on all Terrace Bay residents to assist in this fun Event. More information will be forthcoming in future issues of the News. Acrobats of the Pagoda The world-renowned Acrobats: of the Pagoda will be performing at the Schreiber Recreation Complex at 8.00 pm on May, 4. Tickets for this performance can be obtained at the Schreiber and Terrace Bay Recreation offices. Schreiber Recreation Centre News Weight training Clinic The Recreation Department will be holding a Weight Training Clinic on Saturday, April 23. This course will include topics such as : weight training princi- ples, anatomy, biomechanics, equipment safety and example workouts complete with demon- Strations. This course is limited to 20 participants, so register at the recreation office or by phon- ing 824-2317. Acrobats of the Pagoda This colourful troupe from China will be appearing at the Schreiber Arena on May 4. this is a world-famous group, and it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view their performance. Plan to attend; get your tickets now! Summer Employment Students seeking employment with the recreation department for the summer should get their applications into the office as soon as possible. Application _ forms can be obtained at the township and recreation offices. Summer Programs It is time to start thinking about our summer programs. Schreiber Canada Day 5 K Run '88 Author will give insight into writing at Terrace Bay library Do you enjoy mysteries? Have you ever wondered where authors get the inspiration for their charac- ters and plots? If you do, then come to Terrace Bay Public Library at 7.30 pm on Monday, April 18 and hear Ted Wood, author of such Canadian mysteries as Dead in the Water, Murder on Ice and Eool's Gold. Ted is familiar with our area because his Fool's Gold is set in the Hemlo gold area. 2 Ted, a former policeman and advertising agency creative direc- tor, has written radio and stage plays, TV dramas and documentaries, magazines and short stories. His heroes in the mysteries he has been writing for in the past few years centre around a tough ex- Toronto cop who is the lone police- man in a small Ontario town and his German Shepard partner Sam.
