All Terrace Bay/Schreiber Hockey coaches and executives are urged to attend this one- evening workshop. To register and for more infor- mation please contact the Terrace Bay recreation office at 825- 3542. Prospector's course Bernie Schneiders from the Geology Department of The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, in con- junction with the Terrace Bay Recreation Department, will be presenting a Prospectors Program to be scheduled for April -12th, 13th and 14th, and continuing on April 19th, 20th and 21st from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening. Some of the subjects that will be covered in this program are tools of the prospector, identify prospecting areas, identify rocks and minerals, prospector's licence, claim staking, how to research, market and develop property and many more. This program will be of inter- est to both established and would- be prospectors in the area. We are presently taking registration; call the office at 3542. National Lifeguard Service Course KIDS! The Port Hole Pool in Marathon will be presenting a National Lifeguard Service Course to be held on April 8, 9 and 10. Teen Aerobics The Terrace Bay Recreation Department will be presenting a Teen Aerobics Program to be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Louise will be presenting this eight-week program commencing on April 5th. There: will be a warm up, cardiovascular section, - upper and lower muscle toning and relaxation section. Bowlathon The Terrace Bay Bowling Association will be holding a 12- hour bowlathon on Sunday, March 27th, commencing at 9 a.m. The bowlers need your assis- tance by sponsoring them during this bowlathon. For more infor- mation on pledging or entering the program you may contact Shelley Long at 9161. T.I.S.A. Workshops Training Institute in Sport Administration Workshops are designed to meet the needs of sport administrators, executive members and sport volunteers. Coaches and officials will also benefit from this workshop. Workshops will be held on the following dates: April 15, 16- Thunder Bay, Airlane Motor Hotel; April 29, 30- Manitouwadge, Community Centre. For more information call the rec office at 3542. Callaghan profile from page 6 tors for the Red Rock Community Credit Union and the Red Rock Recreation Committee. He is a charter member of the Red Rock-Nipigon St. John Ambulance Society and a charter member of the Red Rock Lions Club. Callaghan is the founder and president of the Schreiber/Terrace Bay Lions Club. He is also on the Terrace Bay Canada Day Committee where he has been in charge of organizing the bed races. He is on the board of directors for the McCausland Hospital and the board for the Boy Scout Group Committee. Applied twice Callaghan loves Terrace Bay and fully intends to stay here. He has applied twice for the position of police chief- the first time the job went to Russ Phillips and the second time to present chief Donald Kidder. Policing is a stressful job, Callaghan said. "You can only go for so long." He said that for long stretches of time, nothing may happen. Then instantaneously something can happen- "You go up and then come right back down again." "I was here for four days and there was a murder and I was the only one working." Callaghan is referring to the Carriere murder. "You never know what can hannen " he caid.
