_By Helene Ballara Hi! Time is catching up on us just a few more shopping days left. I do hope you are all ready for the big day. Things are moving around here too. Last Saturday, Dec. 6, we had a very enjoyable afternoon, thanks to a concert by the 'North Shore Community Band' under the able baton of Mr. Doug Mcllwain. This concert was called 'Christmas in the Air'. From the playing of O Canada to the final notes of the Christmas Carols, it was a real joy to listen to. After a few selections, Judy Flear took over directing the band in a few carols and she did a wonderful job too. It's always a good idea to have so- meone else in the band who can step in and lead and it looks like Judy is doing o.k. Mr. MclIlwain told us there were four members of the band who come to Terrace Bay every Thursday night MERRY CHRISTMAS & Seasons Greetings to all ry our Friends in Terrace Bay. There is no doubt that these peo- ple can and will, I am sure, make us very proud of them so folks, please help this band in any way you can, you will not be sorry. Our home is starting to look like Christmas. The decorations look lovely and I want to thank our dear Mina and her able helpers for all they do for our comfort. On my thank-you list is one to the ladies from Schreiber who came in on Tuesday, Dec. 9 to play bridge with the residents in spite of the weather. I hope they had no trouble driving back home. Our Thursday, Dec. 11, the wonderful ladies of the Birchwood Auxiliary had their Christmas Tea and Christmas goodies. We all received a gift from the ladies. On behalf of the residents, I would like to thank the ladies who devote so much of their time to help make life so much more pleasant for us. God bless you in your work and we all send you our best wishes for a hap- py holiday season to you and yours. We had a nice surprise the other day when the Home was presented with a yummy gingerbread house. The students of the the Lake Superior High School Home Economics class make it complete with Christmas trees. In fact, everything on the house and around it is all good to eat, so let's hope we \ lees - <e, ' WAS INS (ev ee KS ~ \ Y In the spirit of Yuletide, we wiSh you a Safe and happy holiday.
