Terrace Bay-Schrelber News, Wednesday, May 28, 1986, page 5 Tumblers end season By Sandy Larivee The Superior Tumblers Gymnastics Club is now winding down as another successful season ends. Members of the compet- itive team travelled to meets in Dryden, Thunder Bay, and Geraldton, and hosted a very successful In- vitational and Boys Regional Qualifying meet in February in Terrace brought home the gold from the Burlington Boy's meet in April. Danny travelled to Ott- - awa earlier this month, Bay. Many thanks to all' who assisted us in any way. The Superior Tumblers are extremely proud of Danny O'Keefe of Terrace Bay, who qualified for the Provincial Championships by winning the Novice 'A' Men's category. He also where he won five gold medals and a fourth place ribbon and became the On- tario Novice 'A' Men's Champion. Congratuala- tions, Danny! In April, the team presented a dynamic half- time display during the Schreiber Figure Skating show, as they performed on the ice surface to a very responsive crowd. The recreational pro- gram came to.a close on April 30 when gymnasts from one and a half to 17 years of age took home awards in various cat- egories. At this time our head coach, Betty Tate Pineau, announced her resignation. Her presence and involvement wili be sadly missed. Betty urged all parents to become involved so that we can keep this exciting and innovative program alive. The annual meeting of the Superior Gymnastics Club was held on May 27. Through the summer we will be looking for a head coach, so if you have any ideas, please let us know, and show your support for our Superior Tumblers.
