Bowling News On Dec. 16 the Ladies Evening Bowling League bowled for prizes donated _by Costa's Foods, accor- ding to a recent news release from the league. The turkey was won by Doris Maltais with a high single of 314. The hidden scores were won by Sylvie Angus, Addie Daley, and Lea Falzetta. The prizes were boxes of chocolate. On Dec. 17 the Ladies Afternoon League went for the prizes. The turkey was won by Merridith Rennette with a high single of 225. The chocolates were won by Joan Greenwood, Marion Burns, and Paulette Brend. The turkey was donated by Tom Boys of Schreiber. There are still several openings in this class which will teach the basic stitches of crochet. FOR CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: (Roger Lathier) Adult Class: Date: January 11. Times: Satur- day - 1-4 p.m. Place: High School Ball Field. The par- ticipant will learn how to care for and wax their skis properly. CROSS COUNTRY SKI- ING (Roger Lanthier) Youth Class: Due to lack of registration this course is still not finalized. We need the minimum of 10 registrations to make this class a reality. JAZZ DANCING: (Angela Prince) Ages: 12 and up. Dates: February 24 to April 14. Times: Monday - 6 to 6:45 p.m. Place: St. Martin Schreiber Centennial. Much of the enjoyment came from the camaraderie found in meeting and talk- ing to old friends and neighbours, and reliving the moments of yesteryear. That great Schreiber hospitality, which was demonstrated on a daily basis by the townspeople, merchants and many organizations was a delight. Other courses presented by this Department which will take place later this spring are as follows: Tournament a success by Marianne McDougall On Saturday, Dec. 7 Terrace Bay hosted the third annual Mite Invita- tional, one of the most ex- citing hockey events of the year. Over 150 mites par- ticipated in this fun filled day. Ten teams from Nakina, White River, Red Rock, Marathon, Schreiber, and Terrace Bay treated the many spectators to some fine and exciting hockey. Each player, on every team, was a winner. All the children received a medal at the end of their second game. They also received some extra little treats courtesy of Jim Figliomini. Thanks, Jim!
