I am proud to have been elected the female youth delegate for Lake Nipigon riding and to have been given the opportunity to at- tend the Progressive Con- servative leadership con- vention in Toronto. In the weeks leading up to the convention, I was over- whelmed by my populari- ty because of the numerous phone calls and stacks of mail that I received every day. But since I did not know what to expect at the convention, and I wanted to represent my riding well, I remained undecid- ed until I was in Toronto. Because Mr. Timbrell did not visit our riding and I did not have as much con- tact with Mr. Pope as I had with the others, I was lean- ing towards Mr. Grossman's campaign and finally, I gave my support to Larry Grossman. I am confident that Mr. Grossman is a good leader for our province. He is an extremely intelligent and devoted man, and Larry Grossman will not forget the Northern Ontarians. I especially invite the youth of our region to become interested because involvement can provide new knowledge and create many opportunities. We Northern Ontarians must show interest if we want the politicians to. be in- terested in us. I have heard too often, *'I don't like to get involved in politics," but I do not accept that ex- cuse, and I say to those people: try it and you will be amazed at what you can do! Lisa D.
