ment Cook Book. % cup of margarine (or lard) 1 cup white sugar 2 cups rolled oats 2 cup sour milk (add 2 tsp. of vinegar to fresh milk, and let stand 10 minutes) 2 cups all-purpose flour % tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder ~ % tsp. salt Cream the margarine and sugar. Add the rolled oats alternately with the sour milk. Sift the dry in- gredients together and add them to the mixture (you may have to chill the dough to stiffen it some before the next step). It took 4-5 years to find this recipe which they eventually found in a Govern- They have had this recipe for about 9 years, and still make them regularly, even though only Gerry and his oldest daughter, Allyson like them.
