The ice is caus- ed by moisture in the form of frost settling on the road and then freezing. Rock cuts and Highway bridges are especially susceptible to this condition which is often referred to as **Black Ice". It is so named because the thinness of the layer of ice allows the col- our of the asphalt to show "through in a normal ap- pearing colour. Many ac- cidents are occuring each year because the driver did not know of the condition or chose to ignore it. During the past week, Police investigated a Break, Enter and Theft which occured at Hydro Bay. Marilyn Chapman for Trustee On the November 12, 1985 School Board municipal election ballot you will note "CHAP- MAN Marilyn Mrs." May I take this opportunity to introduce myself and ex- plain why I have declared my candidacy. Our family has lived in Schreiber for 13 years. My husband (Bill) is employed with Kimberly Clark. Our sons (Shayne, 11) and (Jason, 8) attend Schreiber Public School. As a con- cerned parent I have keen interest in the Education System. I worked in the Business Office of the Lake Superior Board of Educa- tion for three years, until May, 1985. During these three years, I gained a significant understanding of the financial functions of the Board. In early October I at- tended a seminar sponsored by the two Lakehead School Boards, and Con- = (-ZOV7l_. = . GB - Sa PaRTICPAcrion | be forgotten. Thank you. On behalf of the Bozec families we would like to ex- press our sincere thanks to everyone who helped us through our time of sorrow. Your phone calls, flowers, offers of help and donations of food and money really did lighten the sorrow we were all feeling. It was really nice to see, by your support, that Guy (Dad) was so well loved and respected. We were proud to have loved him. We would like to thank each one of your individually but the list is unending and that makes it impossible. Your kindness, support and thoughtfulness will NEVER God Bless You All. I was knowledgeable on the issues discussed and am in- terested in applying that knowledge to benefit our school board. I am deeply concerned -- about our children's "*educational needs." Will they enter post secondary institutions properly prepared? Are our schools providing the requirements necessary to achieve higher educational goals? Is our Tax Dollar providing the excellence of education that our son/daughter deserves? Are the faculty members "happy" and comfortable and challenged to teach our children? The Education System is very broad and there are many issues which I would like to share with you however I do not want to make this letter a Political Novel. I urge you to call my with any questions, comments or concerns about electing Marilyn Chapman as -a_ Lake Superior Board of Educa- tion "Trustee". Working together we will achieve goals, that will benefit our children and community! Sincerely, Mrs. Marilyn Chapman This week our student is from Schreiber Public School.
