Terrace Bay Police In the past two weeks Terrace Bay Police have investigated three Motor Vehicle Accidents, all in- volving over $700.00 damage. One single vehi- cle accident resulted in a local male being charged with impaired driving. A two car collision took place at Hudson and Highway 17 and one driver was charg- ed under the Highway Traffic Act with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through~ Highway. A report of a Hit and Run ac- cident is still under investigation. : Police responded to a call of a youth possibly be- ing assaulted. Investigation revealed it was a case of two youths fighting and the matter was resolved after consultation with both parents and children in- volved. Another dispute amongst several youths was settled with the assistance of the Police. A break and enter at the Ministry of © Natural Resources was _ in- vestigated. It was found culprits had gained entry and minimal damage was done.. Building will be kept under observation for fur- ther. attempts. Several thefts were reported and investigated including a theft of Auto which was _ subsequently recovered and no charges laid. Two incidents of Thefts over $200 were reported to Kimberly Clark and also a theft of gas from a vehicle resulting in in- creased patrol of the area as this had © occured previously. Police assisted a local woman regarding a domestic dispute and at- tended a residence to assist in a similar incident. A complaint of wilful damage was investigated and the youths responsible were apprehended and because of their age the matter was settled between parents and youth with no 'Charges being laid. Another case of Wilful damage reported by the High School was resolved with the guilty party pay- ing restitution. Police assisted regarding a local resident who had in- advertently been locked in the Rec. Centre after clos- ing time. Assistance was given in mediating a dispute bet- ween two local residents. A missing person was located in Terrace Bay and returned to Thunder Bay to the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital. A report of dangerous road conditions was attend- ed to by Police involving a manhole cover out of place resulting in damage to a resident's vehicle. A report of damage done at the Airport is still under investigation there being several suspects involved. Extra patrolling will be done in this area to prevent further problems.
