Terrace Bay Men's Slowpitch Tourna- ment: The Terrace Bay Men's Slow Pitch league with assistance from "O.V."' will hold their 3rd Annual Tournament July 26, 27, 28. To date 10 teams are registered, 5 of these are from out of town. Communities like Manitouwadge, Wawa, Chapleau, and Schreiber have registered. We still are accepting teams to reach our maximum of 16. Teams must lose two games before being ' eliminated. Fastball teams are welcome! Deadline to register is July 12th. Pool: Lessons are under- way and 280 children are enrolled in the first session of lessons. This is a max- imum enrollment and un- fortunately we cannot ac- cept further registration unless they are White, Sur- vival, Lifesaving 1, 11, 111, or Bronze candidate. Tot Lot: The Tot Lot staff have designed a uni- que program for Boys and. Girls 3-12 years of age and it looks like an enjoyable summer for this age group. Minor Ball: The first scheduled Fun Day for Boys and Girls 8-12 years of age was cancelled due to rain and fog, however we want to ensure coaches and youngsters that it will be rescheduled in July. Next Fun 'Day is scheduled for Schreiber July 6th. Deadline for August Swim Registration is Ju- ly 22nd!!!!! Schreiber The Summer Fun '85 program is again offering the Youth and Tot Drop- Ins this summer, and everyone is encouraged to come out and join the fun. The Youth Drop-In opens this year Tuesday, July 2nd and will run Mon- day to Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Youth Drop-In office can be found in the arena portion of the Recreation Centre and is open to all kids age 8-18. A number of special events have been planned for the summer in addition to the usual activities of games, sports and crafts. Stay tun- ed for details concerning car washes, sleepovers, tours, camping trips, Fun Week, and a badminton tournament plus much, much more. During Centennial week as well, special. events have been planned. Be on the lookout for future updates. Hope to see you out this summer to enjoy the fun. The Tot Drop-In, available to kids age 4-8, will begin its first day on Thursday, July 4th. It will be located in the games room area of the Recrea- tion Centre. It will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. until August 22nd. The program is packed with special events for the summer such as a film day, a swim day, O.P.P. tour, library days, hikes, an Olympic day and more that will educate and - entertain the children. The usual activities of crafts, games, storytelling and singsongs have also been scheduled for the summer. Further details regarding the special events will be released in the future. The following list of events are scheduled for the Centennial week. Monday 15th 11:00-4:30 Youth Drop- In for ages 8-18 will offer a craftroom, gamesroom .and outside activities. 11:00-4:00 Tot Drop-In for ages 4-8: Crafts, games and other activities will be available. Tuesday 16th 11:00-4:00 Drop-In 2:00-4:00 Tot Drop-In: Film Day Wednesday 17th 12:00-5:00 Youth Drop- In: Hike to Schreiber Beach. Consent forms are available at the YDI office. Thursday 18th 11:00-4:00 Youth Drop- In Movie Day. Also available are the usual sport and game activities. 2:00-4:00 Tot Drop-In Hike to Schreiber Beach if weather permits. We hope to see you this summer enjoying the fun!!!! Youth Youth Minor Ball The minor ball program got off to a great start the week of June 10th. From Monday to Thursday you can see children of all ages working hard at their prac- tices at the various ball parks around town. On the weekends, they enjoy a game with either opposing teams from Schreiber or the teams from Terrace Bay. Be sure to stop by and see the future ball players of Schreiber. As a reminder practice times are as follows: T-Ball - Blue Jays, Wednesday evenings 6:00 - 7:00, Public School, T-Ball - Ex- pos, Tuesday evenings 6:00 - 7:00, Public School, Junior Canadians - Red Sox - Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 Public School, Junior Nationals - Both teams practice together Tuesday evenings 6:00 - 7:30 at HOly Angels. Senior Canadians prac- tice Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 at the High School. Veteran Motor Car Club About 55-60 cars all pre-1914, are on a Reliability Tour from Portland, Maine, to Portland, Oregon, via Canada. The tour spon- sored by the Veteran Motor Car Club of America started on June 16th and they hope to arrive at their destination by July 17th. The whole group plans to rendezvous in Thunder Bay by June 27th. The purpose of the tour is to find out if all of these old cars can still go the distance. More Cars from the Past CALLOUSES? Corns?
