The Province endorses this campaign to recognize and honour volunteers who give their time, energy and talents to help others. The Secretariat is hoping that this week will encourage Walk-a-thon huge success The walk-a-thon in Ter- race Bay, April 28th, spon- sored by the Terrace Bay Kinsmen was a terrific suc- cess, with over $2,240.00 being raised for Cystic Fibrosis. The walk was from Ter- race Bay to Schreiber and back, with participants be- ing sponsored either mile by mile or receiving a total donation. Candy St. Jean and Julie Stoyko each col- lected $300.00 from their sponsors. The Terrace Bay Loyal Order of Moose sponsored Frank Sechesky $100. Warren Parron made the walk in record time, leav- ing Terrace Bay at 8:00 a.m. and arriving back from Schreiber at 11:45 a.m. Leon Theriault came in shortly after. Chris Cashmore and Mitch Baldick both 11 years old took part in the walk. The youngest competitor to finish was Boe Tychoniak POT 2S0 who is eight years old and enjoyed the walk with his Mom Maureen. Plans are being made to deliver the cheque to the annual CF telethon in Thunder Bay which will be held on Mother's Day. volunteer participation, particularly among young people, senior citizens and disabled persons.
