It was attended by both Grandparents, Alex & Eva Baby Jesse's first Party Gordon and Peter & Tina Speziale. The baby is the first child to Clyde and Elena. He is also the first baby in the New Year for Terrace Bay, Schreiber, and the surroun- ding area. Congratulations and best wishes to the Gor- don Family of three. by WINNIE CAMPBELL The women's institute met in the town hall, Tues- day, Feb. 12th, with Presi- dent Mrs. Dora Weaver welcoming the members. Following the reciting of the Ode, and the Mary Stewart Collect, Winnie gave the thought of the day, and Annie Niemi gave the motto. Roll call was.a Valentine verse. Current events were many, as we followed snow storms all over the country, talked of them taking the cabooses off the C.P.R. trains, the asking of Premier Levesque to resign, also Mr. Hatfield's trouble, baby transplants, and so forth. Mrs. Todesco gave her treasurer's report and the bills to be paid, she also read the minutes of the last meeting. Winie gave her card reports, cards sent to the sick and bereaved, and also cards sent to those celebrating birthdays. Fruit sent to Mrs. Bolan, Mrs. Thrower, and Annie Niemi, all in the hospital. Next month being St. Patrick's Day celebrations, green dress, Irish songs and jokes will be for roll call. A touch and take table was next 'on >: the programme. The meeting closed with the Queen. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gordon, and their New Year's Baby "Jesse" were honoured with many gifts from the members, friends, stores, and Kinettes. Presi- dent Dora Weaver in- troduced Mayor Harold Fisher who gave the baby eup to them with best wishes. Then everyone sat down to a delicious lunch of sandwiches and cake. Thanks to all who helped in any way. Welcome back from the hospital in Thunder Bay to Terrace Bay Hospital to Mrs. Marg Gerow. Get Well to Mrs. Bolan Mrs. Thrower, and Marg, all in the Terrace Bay Hospital. Winner of the Chimo home bingo was Mrs. Bet- ty Huard, another bingo will start in March. Mrs. Judy Cooper is leaving to make her home in the Soo. She was honoured at a party, put on by friends from the Anglican Church, and community co-ordinators. She will be missed by all, and we wish her well in her new home. Mrs. Burnett will replace Judy. Mrs. Marg Nesbitt, Mary Sparkes, along with Mr. and Mrs. Hobden Spikula, and Alex Furyk, attended the funeral in Nipigon, of Mrs. Zophia Shewchuk, a past resident of Schreiber.
