Beef and Kidney Pie 1 beef kidney / 2 cut up pieces of bacon 1 lb. of stew beef or medium size round stéak whatever is on sale 2 onions chopped 1 bay leaf 2 tbsp. dark steak sauce 1 tsp. of salt 1 cup of beef bouillon or a cube melted in a cup of boiling water add mixed herbs and pepper to taste % cup of ketchup biscuit dough _ Scald kidney in salted water for | minute. Drain and split. Cut out the fat and tubes (the white stuff in the middle) then dice into | inch cubes. Fry the steak and onions for 5 minutes and add the kidney and all the other stuff except _ the pastry. Cover, simmer for one hour then peel potatoes and carrots and add them to the stew and simmer for another half hour (6 potatoes and six carrots). At the end of the half hour pour the whole thing into a casserole and cover it with the biscuit dough. Trim edges and gash the top. Bake in 425 oven for 20 minutes until the top is nice and brown.
