By HELENE BALLARD A warm "Hello" on a cold day, I hope you are all well and that the flu bug has not found you yet, if he knocks on your door, don't open it. Now I hope you will please bear with me, I wish to use my time here for something very impor- tant, so here goes. Dear Santa (whoever you are) words cannot express our surprise at the stroke of good luck which came to Birchwood Terrace and its Residents. We are indeed most grateful for your generous donation 'to us and may I say '"Yes we believe in Santa." YOu must know how very much we need a new bus, and that we are working hard to try and raise funds to get a bus. The bus we now. use is for one thing, too small and the stoool we have to use to get on and off the bus is not very secure, it tips and slides which could result in injury. Also we have several residents who use walkers, and canes, which of course makes it impossible to take them on outings, so we need a bus that has a hydraulic lift on it. This way everybody can go out and enjoy our great outdoors. This party, who sent us the donation does not want us to know who they are because the letter was signed "Santa." We only wish we could see you in person so we could shake your hand and thank you properl;y, but "Santa" I know I speak for all the staff and residents when I say "Thank you very much and may God Bless." Your generous donation really lifted our spirits and hopes that soon we will be able to - chwood say "Now we can get a new bus."' If at some future time you decide to make yourself known to us, we will be overjoyed to meet you, meantime we will honour your wishes and let you remain "The Bir- Terrace Mystery". Apart from the surprise donation mention- ed above, things are pretty quiet here. However if it's by WINNIE CAMPBELL The regular monthly meeting of the Holy Angels C.W.L. was. held Sunday 13th of January in the Parish Centre with Presi- dent Billie Ann Saarinen in the chair.
