The successful Membership Tea was reviewed and letters of appreciation were to be sent to the Girl Guides and to the kit- chen staff at Birchwood Terrace for their gracious assistance by Lil Christie, Corres- ponding Secretary. A request for further plants for residents was presented by Mina Mahoney and she was as- sured those who had entered their name in the draw would receive one by Christmas. Donna Josus, whose project this was, was thanked and" also for convening the Tea. Beth MacAdam and Peggy Thompson offered to do the Christmas gift shopping for residents and would be assisted in wrapping by Alma Hart, May Dorland and Estelle Wallwin. Price per gift was established and these will be pre- sented at the Home's Christmas Party. Mina. Mahoney would endeavour to offer suggestions. Volunteers for weekly shopping expeditions for residents was requested by the President who had initiated this project and been taken over by Staff members in her absence. Peggy Thompson, Audrey Hara, Mary Hale and Alma Hart offered to assist. A motion to purchase a flowering plant for Christmas was made. Mina Mahoney discussed winter planting activities for the residents, but it was felt bulb planting would not be of sufficient interest. This topic would be re- ferred to the Horticultural Society by May Dorland. Estelle Wallwin gave the Sick and Visiting report listing cards sent out in October. The only Christmas offer to date had been given in by Peter Vanderkam (cont'd page 5..)
