Funds received are for patient care, medical research and education. This year, His Royal Highness, Duke of Edinburgh K.G., K.T., is Patron for the world Rheu- matism Society. He issued this statement: "The purpose of the Year", said His Royal Highness, "is to draw attention to the neglect of the rheumatic diseases and to show the toll they take of individuals and the community as a whole.
