JULY 13, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 17 McCOSHEN: The funeral of the late Mrs. J. Duncan McCoshen, whose death, following a long ill- ness, occurred in hospital in Thunder Bay on - July 6th, was conducted in Schreiber on July 8th, by Father F.J. Meyer in Holy Angels" Roman Catholic Church. The service was preceded by one conducted in the Blake Funeral Chapel, in Thunder Bay, by Father R. Carroll. The pall bearers were Barney MoCoshari Martin Ryan, Walter Ballard, W.E. D'Arcy, Don Loukala and William Wiznuk. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. McCoshen was predeceased by her hus- band in 1949, a son Cleveland in 1970, her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Her immediate survivors are two daughters, Marion, Mrs. Hilary O'Brien, of Thunder Bay, and Sybil, Mrs. Larry Downey of Elliot Lake; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grand- children. Mrs. McCoshen, who was eighty-seven years old, was born Molly Mulligan, in Pembroke, Ontario, coming to Schreiber as a bride in 1914. 1In 1959 she moved to Thunder Bay and had lived there since. She was a long-time member of the Catholic Women's League, and belonged to the Senior Citizens' Club of Thunder Bay. 'In earlier years, Mrs. McCoshen had been interested in painting; a member of the first Art Club_in Schreiber and later delighted in travelling. She was always "Molly" to her many old friends in Schreiber and remembered for her Irish wit and expressions which were immediate -ly adopted and still used. Among those attending the funeral from out of town were: Barney McCoshen of Burlington; Mrs. Hilary O'Brien, Mr. and Mrs. William Wiz- nuk, Mr. and Mrs. Don Loulela, Mrs. Harry White, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henderson, Lyall Dow- ney, Mrs. Michael Duggan all of Thunder Bay; Lorraine Downey of Huntsville; Denise Downey of Sault Ste Marie; Pat Burns of Chapleau and Sister Anna Cosgrove of Sudbury. SCHREIBER SOCIAL: H. Hart was a surprised guest of honour, when Aline and Robin Hart held a retirement party. for him. Bonnie Savoy, grandaughter from St. Johns, N.B. presented Harry with a money tree and gifts. An enjoyable evening was spent reminiscing and visiting friends- and neighbours. Refreshments were served by Paul and Yvonne Rochon. Mr. and Mrs. Buckley Lord from Kamloops, B.C. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McCanna.
