ANNUAL SUPPER - The Women of the Moose Annual Supper will be held June 7th at 6:30 p.m, Religious Training One class period each week is set aside for religious instructions. These classes are taught by either the Catho- lic or Protestant Chaplains or by a qualified teacher designated by the Chaplains. They attend services every Sunday "and are trained in the faith which prevailed in their original home. Mooseheart Lake The lake has 23 acres of water sur- face and an average depth of /eight feet. An island, 1,000 feet long and av- eraging 150 feet wide, is located in the lake. A bridge connects the shore with this island. The lake is stocked with fish by the Illinois State Conservation Department. Population The population at Mooseheart varies. At present it is listed at about 400 stu- dents and 20 Mooseheart mothers. In- cluding children, mothers, administra- tive personnel, etc., more than 1,000 persons either live or work at Moose- heart. . A Complete Community As can be determined from the above information, Mooseheart is a complete community. In addition to having its own residences. stores, utilities, etc., a first class U. S. Post Office handles all incoming and outgoing mail and student mail is distributed through a student post office. Mooseheart Camp Ross Mooseheart Camp Ross provides summer camping facilities for Moose- heart children. It is located on Pine Creek near Mount Morris, Illinois, about 70 miles from Mooseheart, and consists of about 100 acres of rolling woodland. Mooseheart students from fourth grade through the ninth grade get a vacation at Camp Ross each summer with older students serving. as counsel lors. They are housed in six rustic wooden cabins. Other facilities include an outdoor pavilion, arts and crafts building, swimming pool and dining and recreation building.
