FEBRUARY 16, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS NEW OFFICERS: INSTALLED Ruby Rebekah Lodge 279 held their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 9th with Mrs. Georgina Davis N.G. and Mrs. Winnie Clemens, V.G. presiding. Mrs. Clemens gave her report in regard to the Sick and Visiting Committee. Get well cards were sent to Mrs. Dorothea Plummer, Mesdames Dora Weaver, E. Smitheman and H. Bry- ant. Birthday greetings sent to Mrs. Mary Davis on her 90th birthday who is presently in McKellar Hospital. Sympathy cards were sent to Mrs. V. Winters and Mrs. Ida Krause. Mrs. Wallace reported on the recent Penny Auction, thanking all who donated and those who worked at it. Correspondence showed letters of thanks from Mesdames E. Smitheman, A. Sinkins, M. Kragero, Eleanor Forster and D. Moore. Mrs. Gladys Hamilton P.D.D.P. was installed into the Office of the Treasurer and Mrs. Bern' , Jacomb was installed as L.S.N.G. under direc- tion of Mrs. Mavis Slater P.P. CONTACT OUTREACH PROGRAM Nera" Ontario ONTARIO TRAILS COUNCIL TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING AT THUNDER BAY MARCH 1, 1977 7:30 P.M. Airlane Motor Hotel, Junction Hwys. 17 & 11. The Council was established by the Minister of Natural Resources to assist the Government in the preparation of a recreational trails programme. This Council is an autonomous group, com- posed of members of the public who represent hiking, snow- mobiling, bicycling, cross-country skiing, canoeing. motorized trail bike and horseback riding interests. The Council also includes memberships from trail related interests such as private individuals, conservationists and agriculturalists. The purpose of this public meeting is to receive briefs and to hold informal discussions with all interested individuals and groups. The Trails Council actively seeks the support of the public in the identification of present issues, conflicts, and solutions to the development of a Provincial Trails Programme. The amount of time allocated for each presentation will be governed by the total number of briefs submitted. It is therefore requested that only one brief per organization or person be presented.
