PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 2, 1977 PINEWOOD COURT AUXILIARY After several years of inactivity, the Schreiber Chapter of Pinewood Court Auxiliary was reactivated by holding a meeting in the Board Room of .Birchwood Terrace Home. Eight- een interested citizens from Terrace Bay and Schreiber attended as well as Mr. Ken McLeod and Mr. D. Vibert, chairman of the District Board. Mrs. Georgina Davis presided and Mrs. Winnie Clemens read the minutes of first and last meetings of the original organization. The financial report was presented by Mrs. B. Jacomb, treasurer of the former group. Mr. Vibert spoke at length of the objec- tives and care of residents in the Home and future plans for when the present Homes are filled to capacity. He also stressed the im- portance of an auxiliary to provide personal contact with the residents and provide extra for their comfort and happiness. The following slate of officers was elected for a one year term: Mrs. Donna Josus - THE LAKE SUPERIOR .BOARD OF EDUCATION NIGHT SCHOOL 'GOURSES The following classes will begin or be arranged this week: Speedwriting (Sch.), Rug Hooking (Sch.), Conversational French (T.B.), Typing (T.B.), Ladies Keep Fit(?), Junior Badminton (T.B.). We still require a few more participants in Sewing (T.B.), Bookkeeping (?), Arts and Crafts (T.B.). Parents with elementary school stu- dents would be strongly advised to con- sider the New Math for Parents. This course is designed to help parents understand the New Math and therefore, assist their children. The course also includes some basic metrics. Mr. Sparkes reported the sign for 's the Club will be made by a local painter as soon as weather permits and repairs to the washroom floor will be done. The matter of securing volunteer drivers was left to the February meeting when Miss Kaye Heggie of Thunder Bay will be there to explain the duties of the driver. A potluck lunch and party will follow the next meeting.
