PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER I7, 1975 continued from page 1 where he met with Dr. Copeman, of the Depart- ment of Health and Jack Stokes, MPP, and re- turned with their encouragement to secure the approval of the general public which was read- ily given. A Capital Fund grant of $55,750.00 of which $12,000.00 is forgiveable, and donations amou- nting to $13,000.00 from various Companies and Associations made the project possible. The Building houses the Doctor's suite of rooms, the office of the Thunder Bay District Health Association, rooms for a dentist and still not completed, an office for an optome- trist and headquarters for the ambulance. ' Mr. McParland said another satisfaction in the achievement was in having Mauro Cebrario, who had built the Post Office, present at the ceremony and having his son, Giovanni who now carries on the Family Contracting business, make the renovations required to convert the building for its new purpose in the town. Councillor N.A. McCuaig, who was in charge of the project echoed Mr. McParland in des- cribing the necessity for the Centre and agreeing on assistance given by Giovanni at their many meetings. Mr. Cebrario was able to convince and satisfy both Dr. Spacek and Mr. McCuaig that due to structure, some of their plans must be dropped or revised. Jack Stokes, spoke of his pride in seeing the project completed and that it was the per- "fect example of co-operation. "Little people, in little towns, once they dig their toes in can accomplish almost anything." He added with a smile, once the women are involved then theix husbands are forced into direct contributions or, they buy endless numbers of tickets. Keith Penner, M.P. also congratulated the council and townspeople on their achievment. Verl Thompson, of Terrace Bay, Industrial Relations Manager, acting for G.L. Puttock, President of Kimberly-Clark of Canada also brought good wishes on the achievement.
