PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS AUGUST 27, 1975 Rosalie Anne Kettle is attending Broch University in St. Catherines taking a summer course. Charles Kettle is attending the Northwest- ern Hockey School in Noranda, Que. In Septem- ber he will go to Toronto for a tryout with the Toronto Marlboros. Recent overnight guests with the Kettle family have been Mr. and Mrs. John Dionne and girls from Thorold, Ont., Mr. and Mrs. Ken Michener and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ellis of Port Colborne, Ont. In July Mrs. Margaret McKague, with son Jeff and three senior choir members from the Community Church, Susan Barnett, Diane Jones, Carolyn Vanderkam, attended a two week music festival in Neepawa, Manitoba where composer Victor Davis from Winnipeg put in an appear- ance. The course consisted of daily music, theory, and vocal training with well known ex- perienced tutors Muriel Milgrom and Alfred Dahl. The three girls were billeted with families in the area and the festival was held in the Neepawa area collegiate. Also in the Colleg- iate, art, ceramics, drama, childrens program- mes and photography courses were held. The music group put on the Annual Church Service 'and on the final evening the 9th Man- itoba Holiday Festival of Arts 'Showcase' was presented with dozens of displays of crafts and art. The drama productions shown ensem- bles, bands and choirs participated in a var- ied programme. This 'Showcase' concluded two very busy weeks of mixing business with pleasure for these five music loving people from Terrace Bay. TERRACE BAY RECREATION DEPARTMENT SWIM---A-THON : We would like to thank those swimmers who participated in the Swim-a-thon for the McCaus -land Building Fund. They are our four young- est swim team members - Paula Bouchard, 7 year -s old did 46 lengths; Shelly Velanoff, 9 year -s old, did 75 lengths; Louise Pollard, 8 year -s old, did 44 lengths; and Carol Moore, IO years old, did 75 lengths.
