What can be done about it? A hearing' will be held on October 9th in Thun- der Bay. Notice to the Boundaries Commission of intent to attend this hearing must be made before 23 days from August 2Ist. The councils of Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Mara- thon, Manitouwadge, Long Lac and Geraldton met in Geraldton on August 2Ist and approved in principle the following line of action: I. That we have representation at the A/M hearing at which we oppose a) losing one seat from Northern Ontario b) becoming part of the Cochrane riding. Loc- ally it is hoped to have petitions circulated which if you agree, we hope you will sign. c) any individual or group who feels strongly on this matter can have representation at this hearing. A MAN OF ACTION Mr. Gino Caccamo, of Schreiber, District Justice of the Peace, and long-time Tory was nominated Sunday night at Nipigon, to run as Progressive Conservative Candidate for the Lake Nipigon Riding. In the Speech of nomination by, Mr. Bob Spadoni of Schreiber, which was seconded by Mr. Joe Marino, businessman of Geraldton, the following facts about Mr. Caccamo were put forward. J He was born and raised in Schreiber, and received his elementary and High School educ- ation there. His grandparents were among the first sett- lers on the North Shore of Lake Superior. He has attended every nomination meeting of the P.C. Association since I945 and on two occasions he had allowed his name to stand as a candidate, but has stepped down in favour of others. He spent six years in the Armed Forces and returned to the family business after the war - and became Manager and subsequently Presi- dent. In I972 he sold out his interest in the business and went to work for the L.C.B.O. On the local levél - he has served four years on the Municipal council and nine years on the Hydro Commission, the last six years he has been Chairman of that Commission, and is currently serving a 2nd term as President of the Municipal Electric Association of Ontario. He has served three years as President of the Royal Canadian Legion = has held office in the Lions club and has been associated with the Kinsmen for over twenty years. He has al- sO been active in the Chamber of Commerce. He has the zeal and aggressiveness necess- ary to run a good campaign and bring you .action at Queen's Park.
