Pouring tea were Mrs. Severt Erickson, Mrs. Ted Graham, Mrs. D.Q. Hamilton and Miss Heather Graham. Replenishing were Mesdames Brian Birch, 'Cyril Sparkes, Alvin Slater, Geoff. Birch and Del Weberg. The gifts were opened by Miss Janice Cluett and the guest book attended by Kristen Glad and Cathy Graham. LIBRARY MEETING: Highlights of the Schreiber Public Library Board meeting: An order for a reprint of the book "Jour- . ney to Yesteryear" was placed and it is hoped the books will be available for sale in Sep- tember. Frank Obljuibek of the Regional Library, requested news material for the N.W.R.L.S. newsletter. Cornett Productions, Thunder Bay, sent in- formation on the film strips of Thunder Bay harbour, the airport and grain operations, but it was decided not to increase the film strips collection at this time. Insurance on the library was increased by '$2,000 to cover new shelving installed, and, an order placed for two more sets of wall shel -vings, and a magazine display stand. The price on two more free-standing units will be asked. The Library's support of local artists is much appreciated with the paintings being changed frequently and the need for picture molding was discussed, but it was found diff- icult to secure suitable lengths and pldstic runners are now being considered. The first grant installment was received from the Ministry of Government Services. And from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, a new bulletin covering the employment standards act. . MARY AND KARL KAZMIERCZAK HONOURED: Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kazmierczak, who are moving to Sudbury where Mr. Kazmierczak has been transferred by C.P. Rail, have been hon- oured at several farewell parties. Mrs. Donald Green, Mrs. Bill Collinson, Mrs D.Q. Hamilton and Mrs. George Lengyel hosted an evening in Mrs. Green's home. On behalf of the friends attending Mrs. J.D. Bryson pre- sented Mrs. Kazmierczak with a blender, a charm for her bracelet of an old locomotive engraved with Schreiber and a table cloth embroidered with the friends names. Mrs. Severinio Maronese and Mrs. Aldo Valentino entertained twenty friends at an evening in Mrs. Valentino's home when Mrs. Kazmierczak was presented with a painting by Connie Martin of a winter scene at Rongie Lake - a favorite fishing haunt of Mrs. Kazmierczak's. Karl and Mary were both honoured at a barbeque held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Norwood by officers of the Company, when in addition to many smaller and amusing personal gifts they received a set of lawn furniture, a 'survival kit' - for use at fish derbys, a set of seat covers for their car, and wine rack filled with bottles of local vintage. Mrs. Harold McParland, the president, pre- sented a cup and saucer to Mary on behalf of the Catholic Women's League in appreciation of her work during her years in Schreiber. ROSSPORT SOCIAL SPECTRUM The tourist season is at its heaviest now. Many visitors .are here from the United States and Canada visiting friends or camping in our parks or taking advantage of the hotel and cabins. Among those are: George Watts visit- ing with his-sister and brother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Felix Legault. Mr. and Mrs. George Schelling of Windsor, Ont. are with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Schelling. Mr. & Mrs. P. Preuss of Lethbridge, Alta. brought their sailboat from Thunder Bay on the weekend enroute to Eastern Ontario by the nor- thern route on Lake Superior. Mr. & Mrs. K. Sammell of Vancouver, Mr. & Mrs. W. Pink of Calgary, Dr. & Mrs. C.D. Beav- er, Halifax, Mr. & Mrs. T. Phillips, Winnipeg, Dr. & Mrs. C. Abraham, Scarborough, Mr. & Mrs. B.D. Mytrim-crex, Weston, Mr. & Mrs. T.P. Per- cy & family of Port Cogqullam, B.C.; Mr. & Mrs. R.T. Anderson, Scarborough, Mr. & Mrs. F.G. White, Ottawa, Mr. & Mrs. D. McKay & Family, Sioux Lookout, Mr. & Mrs. B. Browne, Ottawa, Bruce Robinson, Toronto, Mr. & Mrs. D. Lucan, Quebec, Frank Carpenter, St. Lite, Que., P.T. Harlic, Ottawa, Mr. & Mrs. A.
