GYMNASTICS CLINIC: On Wednesday, August 20th a clinic in gymnastics for girls ages six and up will be held at the Lake Superior High School Gymnas- ium if enough people are interested. If you would like to participate in the clinic con- tact the Recreation Office before August I2. Qualified coaches will be on hand. BASKETBALL CLUB: On Monday evenings at 7 p.m. girls I2 to 16 gather at the school to play basketball and the boys I2 to I6 play on Wednesday even- ings at 7 p.m. If any girls or boys would like to join, come over to the school, there is still the month of August to play. There is no fee. EVENING GYM: This sports programme will be continued in- to the month of August. All young adults are invited to come out on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. to play some sports. Ac- tivities take place at the Lake Superior Pub- lic School Gym. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Miss Maria Veneziano is spending her vaca- tion with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Diano in-Calgary, and with them, will do some sight-seeing in the west. Mrs. Vic (Mikki) Hannam, of Ottawa was the guest of Mrs. Bob Winters last week, paying many visits to old friends in Schreiber. Roy Davis was home from Toronto for the weekend. Mrs. Edith Reid, of New Westminster, B.C., Don Reid of Kapuskasing, and Mrs. Dorsa Hep-~ burn of Thunder Bay spent a few days at the Reid family camp at Walker Lake, while visit- ing relations in Schreiber and Terrace Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scott and"children of Red Rock, are holidaying in the Scott camp at Terrace Beach. Women's Lib took over when three of John Spillane's sisters paid his home a visit re- cently. The guests, Mrs. Nellie Buchanan, Mrs. Betty Dickson and Mrs. Bill Fullerton (with her husband) all of Oshawa, who grew up in Scotland, presented poor Johnny with recol- lections of his childhood misdeeds, with laugh- ter as Johnny surprised them with some rebut- tals. Jack and Margo Irvine of Oshawa with their daughter Alison are holidaying at the Gino Caccamo camp at Sand Lake and will be joined this week by their son Bob and Miss Susan Green of Vancouver. Mrs. Georgina Davis leaves this weekend to attend a convention in Columbus, Ohio as the local delegate of the Women's Auxiliary to the U.T.0. Mr. and Mrs. R. Potvin of Windsor are visiting with family and friends in Schreiber. Linda and Joe Verboonen (nee Comeau) of Ottawa are visiting her family and friends in Schreiber. Herman Comeau of Schreiber has returned from New Brunswick after spending a month visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. R.R. Dott and daughters Dawn and Dyana have returned to Winnipeg after spending hol- idays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Birch. ; Miss Linda Birch has returned to Thunder Bay after spending holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Birch and also spending a few days camping at Rainbow Falls. Miss Mary Hodder recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drake - her aunt and uncle, en route from Toronto to Thunder Bay. Many merry gatherings are being held by the Gerow kith and kin gathered here to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Huck) Gerow, Mrs. Bernice Jac- omb, and their mother, Mrs. Nellie Gerow. The visitors include Mr. and Mrs. Lee Briggs (Toots Gerow) from Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Ros- anne Gerow, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cronk and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gerow, with children Dean and Sherry of Sudbury, and Mrs. Jim Gray (Etta Gerow) and son Bruce of Thunder Bay. Miss Karen Glad, bride-elect of August, was honoured at a community shower, hosted by Mrs. F.V. Harness, in St. John's Anglican Church hall on July 27th.
