This summer in the Terrace Bay area, a Sec- ond year Queen's University student Jane Poole, is researching local history sources under the Ontario Government's Experience '75 Program Nine. This program was initiated by the North -western Regional Library System. Jane is working under the supervision of Mrs. E. Knauff at the Terrace Bay Public Library and Frank Obljubek, regional consultant for the North- western Regional Library System. The project involves locating sources of history in the form of pictures, scrapbooks, reports, books, documents, newspaper clippings and any other form which information on local history may take. Once located, this informa- tion is recorded for future reference and if suitable, duplicated. In the course of this research, resource people, agencies and organ- izations will be contacted. The project based at the Terrace Bay Public Library will involve research in the Jackfish, Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Rossport area. Similar projects are in operation in Red Lake, Dryden, Kenora, Fort Frances, Atikokan, Thund- er Bay and Geraldton. To further this project, it would be great- ly appreciated if anyone knowing of the exist- ence of information on local history would.con- tact the Terrace Bay Public Library at 825= 3819.
