SUMMER YOUTH CAMP - REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED : The registration deadline for the Summer Youth Camp has been extended until this Friday, June 27th. To date approximately I2 people have registered for this camp and we would like tc point out that if anyone else is inter- ested, you may obtain forms from your local Recreation Office. Fee for this camp is $30. This camp will last for one week and take placd at Canoe Lake. If you are interested, regis- ter now. TENNIS: Anyone interested in playing tennis may obtain rules and regulations sheets from eith- er the Cashiers Desk at the swimming pool or the Recreation Office. By the time of publi- cation of this week's NEWS, the tennis courts should be ready for play. There will be Recr- eation membership and non-Recreation member- ship fees established, with refunds upon retur -n of the key accordingly. COMING EVENTS: . Your assistance has played a valuable role in providing tennis courts for play in our community. SCHOOL HOLDS ANNUAL PICNIC On Friday, June 20th, The Annual Picnic of the Caroline McMorland School For Trainable Retarded Children, Marathon, was again a trem- endous success. Parents and students enjoyed a three hole golf tournament followed by the picnic at Penn Lake. Mrs. A. Deol the School Principal for the past six years has decided to join her husband Paul in their new venture, farming in Manitoba and therefore concludes her position at the school. Mrs. Deol received from her students in appreciation a beautiful oil painting of Lake Superior by local artist Mrs. Mary Middaugh. All parents expressed their wish that the school would continue to present to the chil- dren their educational advancements. Picture - students presenting Mrs. Deol with a gift. Fishing has been exceptionally good this year from the docks and coves off Rossport Harbour as Albert Ray (left) and Hilton Mushquash (right) show the Lake Trout they caught 'in Sheehan's Bay in the west end of Rossport Harbour.
