JUNE I8, I975 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 and screams and yells echoed around the walls much to the delight of other tourists passing by. The hospital that had served as an import- ant place during those bye gone days, was a place of amazement to all. The crude rough beds with mattresses filled with hay will nev- er really be believed by our children, who only know the best in spring filled padded posture pedic mattresses in their own homes. The carpenters shop and canoe sheds held the group in quiet awe as the masters of their trade whittled and shaved the rough timber in- to smooth pieces of furniture or household items. A few of the group were invited to use the good working ingenious tools. At the end of the tour no one seemed will- ing to leave the Old Fort and then and there planned to try to return when the last three or four buildings that were under construction now are completed in I976. When the lovely tour guides said goodbye one could almost visualize the tall strong voyageurs striding through the bush with huge bales of furs slung around their back, suppor- ted by their sashes around their foreheads. Or the small trim ladies going about their work in long dresses and simple aprons gaily decorated their dark attire. A step back in time was an eye opener to all that took the trip and was recommended by all to be the best Northwestern Ontario Tour- ist attraction that has ever been seen. Chaperones for the trip were Addie Daley, Pam Jones, Barbara Payette and Connie Cvitko- vich. Teachers were David Ditchfield and Ron Jowitt. CAMERON'S HAVE VICTORIOUS BOWLING YEAR In May the bowling alleys echoed with cheers and laughter as a mixed tournament - was under way. Some very good bowling was seen and the competition was heavy, but the Wally Cameron team from Schreiber won it by a very close margin. Congratulations go out to the 'Cameron' team. : This same team of Judy & Wally Cameron, Dan & Jackie Imbeault and Aime & Marie Jean have had terrific games and their good bowling seemed to last when they entered an -other tournament in Red Rock. They emerg- ed victorious with the 'Carling Trophy' in the Northwestern roll-offs.
