JUNE I8, I975 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I7 COLE: Mr. Harry Edwin Cole passed away in the Thunder Bay Hospital on Friday, May 2, 1975. Beloved husband of Josephine and dear father of Ralph, Ronald, both of B.C., Eleanor Fill- more of Saint John, New Brunswick, Robert of Manitouwadge, Barbara Maxwell of Portage Le Prairie, Harriet Andrews of Schreiber and Harry Malcolm at home. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren. Rested at King Funeral Home, Schreiber. Funeral was on Monday, May 5th at 2:30 from Grace Baptist Church. Interment, Terrace Bay Cemetery. : KINETTES : The Schreiber Kinettes, former and present, enjoyed a party hosted by Eva Gordon at her camp, with Linda Figliomeni as program conven- er. Mike Cosgrove made a brief appearance to thank the Kinettes for their support: during his term as District Deputy Governor and congratulated Linda Figliomeni as junior local Bulletin Editor who won an award at the recent convention, and Ruth Ann Birch who acted as his reporter for Zone 4, District 2. Included in the crowd attending were two mothers and daughters - Lena Holmes and Joyce Reid, Margaret Kragero and Sandy Quinton. The evening began with a potluck dinner, followed by reading of minutes of the May meet- ing by Joan Stewart, and then, a Fashion Show in which everyone present was involved with some ludicrious results! The ensembles, seal- ed in paper bags, were chosen by the models hit-or-miss, and the result, generally speak- ing -- dreadful! If one can imagine a five foot model, weight I05 pounds, attempting to display a un- iform garb of pants and cap, designed for a man's 6 foot, 200 pound frame. Some rounds of penny auction were played and the evening ended with dessert and coffee. UNITED CHURCH WOMEN : A potluck supper preceded the United Church Women's June meeting, for which Mrs. Beth Mac- adam presided, welcoming three guests - Mrs. Myrtle Gordon, Mrs. Nillie Gerow and Mrs. Louis Albertini. It was announced church services will be held on June I5th, communion conducted by the Rev. Gordon Dale, and on June 29th conducted by Rev. Gibbons of Thunder Bay. Word was received that the World Day of Prayer next year will be based on Education for Life, theme written by women in Uruguay, and it was noted, a film on the Least Coin project is available. It was agreed to cater for a wedding recep- tion in August. On Sunday, October I9th, in conjunction with the Official Board an anniversary tea will be held to mark the United Church's 50th Anniver- sary, as well as the 90th Anniversary of the local church. For the devotional period Mrs. Macadam read an article on the origin and meaning of the United Church Seal and Miss Edith Clemens read the Scripture passages. A most appreciative letter was received from Pat Newton, former church and choir mem- ber, now residing in eastern Ontario for the kindnesses received while in Schreiber. Mrs. Winnie Clemens read an article on the | special T.V. show to commemorate the Church's Anniversary. Following the meeting Ray Kenney of Ross- port showed slides of a recent holiday in Flor- ida, Mexico and other points in the U.S. with a most interesting commentary. The members then enjoyed a penny auction. LAKE SUPERIOR HIGH SCHOOL Preaduatior.
