George is a friend of Paul Theriault. They had met and studied together at Conestoga Coll- ege in Kitchener. Alice and Alphonse Theriau- lt had invited George to Terrace Bay for three days as he was passing through on his way out to«B.C. Every Summer Mr. Kumi travels extensively through Canada to try and see as much as he can during his four year stay before he returns to Ghana. COMMUNITY CHURCH HOLDS CONFIRMATION SERVICE Red Roses decorated the Altar on June Ist when the Community Church held a Confirmation Service for six young adults. Confirmed were Melody Fisher, Isle Smith, Twyla Stevens, Bruce Lang, Jeff Buckley and Craig Hiebert. Following the service the congregation was invited to the Church hall for lunch provided by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Chur- ch. Each table held a single Tulip in a bud vase. At the end of the luncheon Reverend Pet- er McKague presented each of the six confirmed with a necklace of leather with a symbol type pendant for the girls and a small Bible for the boys. TERRACE BAY SOCIAL SPECTRUM Recent visitors with Addie & Roger Beaulieu and family were Roger's sister-in-law Alena Beaulieu and Mr. and Mrs. John Seredenski of Kapuskasing. Visiting with Brenda and David Barnett and family for three months are David's parents Mr. and Mrs. William Barnett from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. Thursa and Doug Thompson visited with the Rev. P.G. (Garnett) Husser and Mrs. Husser at Loring, Ontario. They also travelled to Tren- ton to visit their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fretz, also a surprise visit was enjoyed with Dan MacFadyen and his wife while in Trenton. Welcome to Regent and Simone Lapointe and their 2 children. The Lapointe's came from Seven Islands, Quebec and now reside at 459 Fort Garry Road. |
